Run the shop, not the line

A shop mixes booked clients and walk-ins all day, splits revenue across barbers on different deals, and swipes a card for most of its mid-size tickets. This edition runs the queue, the splits and the rent, and dual pricing takes the card fee off the cut.

Walk-ins & appointmentsOnline booking alongside a live queue. Walk-ins join from a QR at the door and get a wait-time text; booked clients keep their slot.
Chair rental billingRent invoices per barber on your schedule, collected by ACH on the 1st for a flat per-item fee. Commission, booth rent or hybrid, calculated per ticket.
MembershipsA monthly cut membership charged automatically with card auto-updating. Members see visits at checkout; the shop sees recurring revenue.
Rebooking remindersThree weeks after a cut, a text with the barber's next openings. One tap rebooks.
Tips & fast checkoutTwo-tap checkout with a tip prompt after the amount. Tips go direct to the barber, reported per day.
Reviews & retailThe review request goes out the next morning. Pomade and product on the same ticket, with inventory counts.
AI, in shop terms

What the AI does for a barbershop

Describe the rule once in plain English. The workflow builder assembles it and asks before switching it on.

Keeps the queue honestA walk-in scans the QR. The receptionist quotes the wait, texts when a chair is five minutes out, and drops anyone who misses two calls.
Rebooks every client at three weeksTwenty-one days after the cut, a text with openings. No reply? One more a week later, then nothing until he books.
Collects chair rent without the awkward conversationRent invoices go out on the 25th, ACH pulls on the 1st, and the owner sees only who is late.
Answers the phone while the clippers are onOpenings, prices, is there a wait, do you cut kids. The receptionist answers texts, chats and calls around the clock and books or queues.

Take the card fee off the cut

A barbershop is a high-swipe, mid-ticket business, which is exactly where dual pricing pays. The board posts a cash price and a card price up front, the terminal shows both, and the client picks.

  • Compliant dual pricing with signage included. Where a surcharge is used instead, it is capped at the lesser of 3% or your actual cost of acceptance (2% in Colorado and Oklahoma), and debit cards are never surcharged
  • Or interchange plus one small, disclosed margin, and you save on card fees versus flat-rate pricing. Send a statement and we show the math
  • ACH for chair rent at a flat per-item fee instead of a percentage, pulled on your schedule; returned payments pass the processor's return fee through at cost, with two automatic retries
  • Card on file for memberships and no-shows, with smart retries
  • Countertop terminal at the desk or a mobile reader at each chair
  • Each shop, and each renter, holds its own merchant account with our processing partner

Plans for barbershops

Which plan a shop picks

A one- or two-chair shop starts on Basic at $99/mo, credited back on your monthly processing statement while you process with Merch FinTech, so the software is on us: booking, chair-rent invoicing, two-way texting, forms, one website, the client portal and two users. Shops with memberships run on Pro at $299/mo ($249/mo billed annually): queue and rebooking automations, memberships, the AI receptionist, reviews and unlimited users. Pro is credited back at higher processing volumes. Compare plans. Need it built around how you run? Custom builds from $1,999.

Renters on their own accounts. Each barber who rents a chair can hold his own merchant account on the same platform, with his own payouts and his own Basic plan credited back while he processes with us. The shop keeps one booking page and one queue.

Banking and cards. Branded gift cards and business banking are provided through our partner bank and card program partners, subject to approval. See banking · See cards.
FAQ

Questions from shop owners

Can the system handle both walk-ins and appointments?
Yes. The queue merges booked slots and walk-ins. Booked clients keep their time; walk-ins join from a QR at the door, get an honest wait estimate by text, and are called when a chair is five minutes out.
How does chair rent collection work?
Rent invoices generate per barber on your schedule and collect by ACH on the 1st for a flat per-item fee instead of a percentage. The owner sees only who is late. Commission, booth rent or a hybrid are all calculated per ticket, and each barber sees his own numbers.
Does each barber get his own reporting?
Yes. Each barber sees his own book, clients, tips and commission from his phone. The owner sees the whole shop: tickets, rent collected, memberships, reviews and retail.
Does dual pricing work in a barbershop?
It is one of the best fits: many card swipes a day on a competitively priced service, and clients used to seeing a cash price and a card price. The terminal shows both, the client picks, and the fee stops coming out of the cut.
Can barbers who rent chairs take their own payments?
Yes. A renter is his own business and holds his own merchant account with his own payouts, while the shop keeps one booking page, one queue and one look. His Basic plan is $99/mo and is credited back on his processing statement while he processes with us, like everyone else.
