Switch & save

Switching is easier than staying

Send one statement. Within one business day we show your true effective rate and what you would keep. Then we move your data, run alongside your old system until everything reconciles, and help with the contract you are stuck in. Most single-location businesses are switched inside two weeks.

The switch

Zero downtime in four steps

You never cancel first. The new system is built, loaded and tested while the old one keeps taking money.

1
Free statement analysisSend a recent statement. Within one business day you get your true effective rate, every junk fee by name, and what interchange-plus and zero-cost would each save. No commitment.
2
Set up before you cancelYour merchant account is approved, your software edition is loaded and your hardware ships, while the old processor keeps running.
3
We migrate everything, freeContacts, customers, schedules, memberships, invoices and cards on file (as tokens, with your current provider) are moved by our team.
4
Flip the switchRun both for a few days, confirm the deposits reconcile, then cut over. We draft the cancellation letter for the old provider.
What moves

Everything that matters comes with you

A switch fails when the data is left behind. Ours moves the whole business, not just the card reader.

  • Contacts and customers. Names, phones, emails, addresses, tags and notes from your CRM, spreadsheet or old POS.
  • Cards on file. Migrated as tokens between PCI-compliant providers. Nothing is emailed or retyped. Where a provider refuses, we re-collect by text with a one-tap link.
  • Recurring billing. Memberships, tuition plans, retainers and installments, with their next charge dates intact.
  • Appointments and classes. Future bookings, rosters and staff calendars, so nobody re-enters next week.
  • Invoices and balances. Open invoices and customer balances, so collections continue without a gap.
  • Website and forms. Your domain, pages and intake forms, rebuilt or pointed at the new platform.
  • Hardware. Compatible terminals and PIN pads reprogrammed at no charge; new devices at cost or placed on volume.
Day 1Statement received. Analysis returned the next business day.
Days 2–5Application signed, underwriting by our sponsor-bank processing partners, software edition loaded.
Week 1–2Data and card-on-file migration. Hardware arrives. Staff trained in one session.
Cut-over dayBoth systems reconcile. New system goes live. Old provider canceled with our letter.
Month 1Named onboarding contact checks deposits, retries and reports with you weekly.

Typical timeline. Your edition is ready to walk through in about three business days; the first live day is usually one to two weeks out, subject to underwriting and carrier text-messaging registration. Larger migrations run longer.

Zero downtime

How nothing goes down

Parallel runBoth systems live at once. Staff ring up on the old terminal until the new one is proven. Deposits from both are reconciled in the dashboard.
Cut-over on your dayYou pick the day, usually a slow one. We are on the phone that morning and the next.
Cards move as tokensCard-on-file data travels vault to vault under PCI rules. It is never emailed, exported to a spreadsheet or retyped by anyone.
A named contactOne onboarding person from the first call through the first month. Their direct line, not a queue.
Contract buyout helpEarly-termination fees and equipment leases are how processors keep customers. We review yours case by case and often help offset the cost. Bring the contract to the first call.
Savings start on the first batchA zero-cost program or interchange-plus applies from the first batch, the subscriptions the platform replaces come off your card the same month, and Basic is credited back on your processing statement.

Honest math, both ways. If your current rate is genuinely good, or your termination fee outweighs the saving, the analysis says so and we tell you to stay. We would rather earn the call back in a year.

FAQ

Questions about switching

Will my payments be interrupted during the switch?
No. Your new account, software and hardware are set up while your old processor keeps running. You take payments on the old system until the new one reconciles, then cut over on a day you choose. There is never a day you cannot get paid.
Can you really move my stored customer cards?
In most cases, yes. Cards move as tokens between PCI-compliant providers, never by email or spreadsheet. Some processors drag their feet; our team files the request, chases it and tells you the timeline. A few providers refuse, and then we re-collect cards by text with a one-tap link.
What does the migration cost?
Nothing. Statement analysis, data migration, card-on-file migration, reprogramming compatible equipment and onboarding are included when you process with Merch FinTech.
I am mid-contract with my processor. Is switching still worth it?
Usually. Savings from a zero-cost program or interchange-plus, plus the subscriptions the platform replaces, often cover an early-termination fee within months. We review buyouts case by case and sometimes help offset them. If staying is cheaper, we tell you to stay.
How long does the whole switch take?
The statement analysis comes back within one business day. Approval of a single-location account usually takes a few business days. Your edition is ready to walk through in about three business days, and a full switch with cards on file typically completes in one to two weeks, subject to underwriting and carrier text-messaging registration.
